Press Release
November 14, 2003
On February 7th, 2004 the New York Metropolitan Museum will be filled
with more than mannequins during the Bravehearts: Men In Skirts exhibition.
Actual members of the kilt-wearing group called the Bravehearts will be present.
Yes, these are the men who have chosen the option of wearing the kilt/skirt
(commonly called a MUG, Male Unbifurcated Garment) instead of trousers and pants.
Representatives of the Bravehearts (from around the world),
and an organization of Women who support them,
will be attending the exhibit on February 7th
as a way of promoting the fashion as well as
creating awareness to this lifestyle.
The Braveheart members have been “kilting”
long before the garment ever graced the men’s fashion stage.
In fact, the Bravehearts have been opting for the kilt/skirt
over pants as far back as the 1980’s in the U.S. alone.
